Door supervision planned around your premises licence
Door staff set the tone of a venue before anyone reaches the bar, so we plan door cover around your premises licence, your busiest hours and the way your venue works.

What door supervisors do
- Decide who is admitted, in line with your policy
- Check age and ID
- Refuse entry and remove people when needed
- Manage queues and the area outside the door
- Deal with conflict, and aim to calm it first
- Keep an incident record
- Work with your designated premises supervisor and with the police
Your premises licence comes first
Your licence may set conditions on door staff, such as numbers, hours and incident records. Send us those conditions and we plan around them. If they look wrong for the way your venue now trades, we will tell you, so that you can raise it with your licensing adviser. We do not change licence conditions, and we will not plan below them.
What we ask of you
- A copy of the premises licence and its conditions
- Your door policy, including admission, ID and dress
- Your busiest nights and closing times
- Who the door team reports to on the night
What you receive
- Written door instructions for your venue
- A plan showing positions and hours
- An incident record you can show when asked
- A named contact
- A review after the first weeks of cover
Licensing
Door supervision at licensed premises requires an SIA door supervision licence. Unlike most security work, this applies to in-house staff as well as contractors. Licensed premises means those licensed to sell alcohol or provide regulated entertainment. We use only people who hold that licence on a door, and we check it on the register before they start.
Common questions
Can you cover a single night?
Tell us the date and the venue on the quote form, and we will say whether we can cover it.
Does the door team work for me or for you?
They work to the instructions you have agreed, and report any incident to you. We stay responsible for who we supply and how they are checked.
